NET / JRF Exam Syllabus Pattern & Scheme for UGC CSIR 2018

Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), India, a premier national R&D organisation, is between the world's volumetric publicly funded R&D council. Human Resource Development Group (HRDG), a division of CSIR realises this objective through differ grants, fellowship projects etc.

Human Resource Development Group has been granting significantly towards generating an inquiring society and fast increasingly knowledge economy. These diverse projects cover a wide border of scientists (aging from 15 years to 65 years)

CSIR-UGC NET Exam for Science stream is operated by CSIR in the below fields: -
 1.      Chemical Sciences
2.      Earth Sciences
3.      Life Sciences
4.      Mathematical Sciences
5.      Physical Sciences

The pattern for the Single Paper MCQ test shall be as described below:-

v  The MCQ test paper of every subject shall bear a maximum of 200 marks.

v  The test shall be for period of three hours.

v  The question paper shall be separated in three parts

 Ø    Part 'A' shall be common to each subjects. This part shall be a test inclusiving a maximum of 20 questions of General Aptitude. The Aspirants shall be needed to answer any 15 questions of two marks each. The total scores distributed to this segment shall be 30 out of 200

 Ø    Part 'B' shall   imply subject-regarding conventional MCQs. The total scores divided to this segment shall be 70 out of 200. The maximum number of questions to be checked up shall be in the range of 20-35.

Ø    Part 'C' shall imply higher value questions that may test the Aspirant’s intelligence of scientific notion and/or application of the scientific notion. The questions shall be of analytical nature where a applicant is required to apply the scientific knowledge to reach at the settlement to the given scientific problem.  The total marks divided to this section shall be 100 out of 200.

 Ø     Negative marking for wrong answers.

NB: In all the subject areas of the NET the actual number of questions asked and to be attempted in each section may vary from exam to exam.
